About me
Languages have always played an important role in my life. Born in 1977, I grew up and was educated in a bilingual, English/ Russian-speaking environment in the UK and Russia (Soviet Union in those days). It almost went without saying that languages were later to become my profession. I have been translating and interpreting since 1997 - first in Moscow, Russia, and since 2002 in Hamburg, Germany. During the time in Germany, I added German as my third working language, and in 2016 I passed the German state examination at the University of Leipzig as a translator for Russian and German. In June 2021, I became a sworn translator and interpreter for Russian, which qualifies me to work at courts, the police and the public prosecutor’s office, as well as translate official documents.
